Local Area Assessments

JSA banner

Wiltshire Council has defined 20 community areas within the county. These community areas generally include a market town and its surrounding villages. In 2009, 18 Area Boards were established - one for each community area, with the exception of Mere, Tisbury and Wilton, which are together covered by the South West Wiltshire Area Board.

Building on the Joint Strategic Assessment programme for Wiltshire, new community area level JSAs have been produced. These can be accessed below.

Community Area Health and Wellbeing JSAs and other community area level information can also be accessed through this page.

Wiltshire Community Areas

The Joint Strategic Assessment (JSA) for Wiltshire was adopted by the Wiltshire Public Services Board in April 2011. The community area JSAs represent the next major development in the JSA programme and are a key step in the journey toward a full understanding of the needs of Wiltshire's population. These important documents set out the strategic issues for community areas based on local level data, information and knowledge.

Full versions of the JSAs for each of the 20 community areas, along with executive summaries, can be downloaded below.
